2016 Is Over!
2016 PUB LEAGUE CHAMPION JEFF L
An enthusiastic group of 20 Pub Leaguers came out for our 2016 single event season at the Flowertown Pub, but only one would rise to become champion and winner of The MacKinnon Challenge Cup – Jeff L !!! Congrats to Jeff on his record-breaking accomplishment, 9 years in the making.
What a beautiful group of Pub Leaguers.
Yes, we said Record Breaking… Jeff L shattered the Highest Score in the Pub with his 43 points, erasing the previous (tied) record of 41 points, an agreeably amazing number that had been accomplished by both Richard M in 2012 and also by Jana E waaaay back in 2008.
Jeff also tied the Highest Score, Any Event – matching Sharron J’s 43pts from Curling back in 2011. Way to go, Jeff!
What’s next? Is 44 points possible? Will anyone ever crack the 50 pt ceiling? Is the (gasp) 60 point Perfect Game even possible? Only time will tell.
In other winners of the evening:
- After an exciting tie breaker, Jeff B beat out newcomer Jill S to take 2nd place, claiming a $10 cash prize
- Michelle D was The Person That Tried Everything & Came in Dead Last, making her our evening’s winner of the Teeter Award. Michelle got her entry fee back
- Jana E took home $10 for being our Trivia Winner of the evening
- Roberta the Bartender cleaned up nicely with a $120 50/50 jackpot. Suhweeet!
Upon arrival, it was discovered the Flowertown Ring Toss game was defunct;
Pub League Management was tasked with quickly creating a replacement game on the fly.
Hence ‘Roll the Ball into the Hole in The Side Bar-Ledge Thing’ made its first Pub Night appearance.
