2017 is over!
Our Tenth Year is over! Bowling broke attendance records! And a new Champion finally was Crowned. With an unrelenting passion for drinking & throwing stuff, a huge group of 29 Pub Leaguers showed up for the second event of 2017, our 37th (!) Pub Night – and the year final. One person would emerge victorious, capturing his first ever Championship – congratulations to veteran Jeff B !

Happy Pub Leaguers! Last Year’s Champion Jeff L is joined by his +1 Diane S, Heather W 1, Walter N, & Heather W 2. I was told there’d be no math at Pub League.
From an Attendance Standpoint, we had a huge turn-out (29 persons having the Time of Their Lives); this was our largest event since Curling back in 2012, when 40 Pub Leaguers competed & Nicole W ultimately won that event. It also eclipsed the previous highest Bowling attendance of 21, back in 2014 when Peter L won.

Jana E nearly managed to grab her seventh victory… if not for the first time appearance of The Brothers P, who managed to clinch 3 of the top 5 spots for the night. That’s right – rookie Braedan P was our Bowling Winner, with 40 points – a Pub League Record. Braedan managed to finally crack the previous high of 39, an eight-year old record shared between Ron C, Jana E and Drew M, scores that were achieved between 2008 – 2010. Congrats to Braedan on a strong finish at his first Pub League event – good enough to even crack the Top 10 for the year. We look forward to seeing him again!

After a decade of Pub League training, she finally unleashed The Brothers P into their first event, capturing 3 of the top 5 spots, out of a field of 29. Meanwhile, the saga continues… Braedan’s brother Nathan finished in 2nd Place with 39 points, also tying the previous Bowling Record that fell tonight. And third brother Carter finished in 5th Place… Carter! Do the Trivia! Carter decided not to answer any Trivia, and if he’d snagged a mere 3 answers, we could have had a 1-2-3 finish for the Brothers P. But our congrats go out to Carter P for a strong finish of 35 pts.

Jana E flexed her giant brain to grab the Trivia win for the night & a 3rd place finish with 38 points, tying her previous Bowling best score from 2009. It was Jana’s highest event ranking in 5 years, [when her 35 point victory won her the night & The Cup back in 2013]. She finishes 4th for the year.
At the bottom of the board, Jessica T managed to win the prize created in her honour – the Teeter Award, given to the person who pays their dues, tries everything, and finishes dead last. Jessica gets her entry fee back, and finishes 17th for the year.
And the hero of 2017, Jeff B… finished 4th for the evening, but it was good enough to build on his first round 31, sending him to the #1 Spot for the year; a comfortable 10 points ahead of the closest challenger Casey W, hence clinching the most Majestic of Awards – The MacKinnon Challenge Cup.
Management confirms, by reviewing Government issued identification, that Spencer L is not 18, and is cleared to place intoxicants into his body.
