Our First Golf Tournament was a SUCCESS!
Our Eleventh Tournament is over! 28 Pub Leaguers hacked their way around the links, for our 38th (!) Pub Night, and our first ever GOLF TOURNAMENT! After a marathon of 12 holes of golf, dart throwing, trivia and ball bouncing, one championistic person would championly emerge champion, capturing his first ever championship – congratulations to champion Bryan F !

It was a remarkably tight race out on the course. The best scoring groups put together an impressive 38 over 12 holes, with three groups rounding out the bottom with a still very decent 48.
In one of the most challenging Pub League events in history, Bryan F managed to rise above the pack with a an impressive 4 point cushion to claim his victory along with a $100 prize. A tie breaker led past-champion Jeff L to his 2nd place finish and $20 for beer money. Other prizes included $20 for Longest Drive (Michael C & Jana E), $20 for Closest to the Pin (Bryan F & Sandra K), $20 for our Trivia Winner (Alvin K) and as usual we gave $10 to ease the pain of our Teeter Prize winner, the Person Who Tried Everything But Finished Last – this time around it was Ron K.
Also, our drunken smacking of balls managed to raise funds for nine bedkits for Sleeping Children Around the World. Congratulations to everyone for all of your generosity in attending, playing the 50/50, and all greatly-appreciated donations. You’ve brightened the lives of kids who don’t have it as great as the rest of us. Here’s an example of some of the kids you helped in 2017, that showed up in our mailbox recently:
That brings Pub League’s Sleeping Children contribution to 92 bedkits so far! Well done.

And yes, for those counting, the 2018 MacKinnon Challenge Cup was awarded in 2019. Which means the 2019 MacKinnon Challenge Cup should be awarded… darn soon! Stay tuned for details!
